Aims and Purposes of the Company |
|
| |
The Company will seek to promote recruitment and development
of employees in the financial services industry with particular
emphasis on those younger people in the immediate area of
the City who would not normally be able to aspire to a City
job.
This will be achieved by providing educational training for
and assistance to the talented lesser privileged in finding
relevant education and work in the City. |

Types of Support |

The Company may support: |
|
| |

| a. |
Specific projects where a donation from the
Company would cover either a
significant proportion of the cost or an identified element
of it.

| b. |
Long-term funding of scholarships and/or bursaries. |
|
|
| |
|
|
| |
Eligibility
Eligibility for grants from the Company will be as follows: |

| |
|
|
| |
| a. |
Registered charities only. |
| |
|
| b. |
Projects in the UK with preference for inner London. |
| |
|
| c. |
Previous grant recipients must allow 2 years from the
date the original grant was awarded to reapply. |

| |
|
|
| |
Exclusions
The following areas are excluded from Company grants: |

| |
| a. |
a. Large projects towards which any contribution
from the Company would have limited impact. |
| |
|
| b. |
General appeals or circulars. |
| |
|
| c. |
Replacement of statutory funds. |
| |
|
| d. |
Salaries. |
| |
|
| e. |
Counselling. |
| |
|
| f. |
Course fees for professionals. |
| |
|
| g. |
Medical research. |
| |
|
| h. |
Fundraising events and sponsorship. |

|
| |
|
|
| |
Responses to Requests for Charitable
Aid
Each request will be dealt with on an individual basis as follows: |

| a. |
Eligibility
Criteria Not Met. The Clerk, on the behalf of the
Chairman of
the Charity & Education Committee is to respond detailing
the aims of the Company with regrets that funding is not available. |
| |
|
| b. |
Eligibility Criteria Met. The
request is to be passed to the Chairman of the Charity
& Education Committee and, if agreed, the Clerk is to
send a letter and application form to the Charity for completion.
The request will then be discussed at the next Committee
Meeting and the charity will be informed of the outcome. |
