Membership Eligibility. Membership of the Company is open to all who work in the financial services community and is not confined to the banking environment. Indeed, the Company warmly welcomes those from all the many professions with close links to international finance such as fund management, audit and accountancy and public relations. Overseas membership is available for the international financial community.

Application Procedure. The Court has delegated responsibility for the management of the membership application process to the Membership Committee. Initial approval and rejection decisions are taken and acted upon by the Committee. A report on all decisions is presented to the Court Meetings for ratification.

All prospective members may download information from the website or will be sent a Membership Application Form, a Company Booklet, a paper detailing the Company's charity and educational involvement and a copy of the latest Newsletter by the Clerk. When the Application Form has been completed by the applicant, endorsed by the sponsor, and returned to the Clerk, the latter will notify the Chairman and Members of the Membership Committee of the applicant’s details and the name of the sponsor (if applicable). The Chairman and Committee Members will then vet the applicant and notify the Clerk of his/her suitability for membership of the Company. Should the Chairman and Committee Members not reach agreement, the application will be referred to the Master’s Committee who in turn may refer to the Court.

When membership is approved, the Clerk will then send a congratulatory letter on behalf of the Master, with the necessary papers or will refer the member to the relevant website page. If membership is not approved, the Clerk is to write to the applicant, notifying him/her of the decision.
