The affairs of the Company are managed by a Court of Assistants
(“The Court”) which consists of a Master, Senior Warden
(also known as the Deputy Master) Middle and Junior Wardens (“The Warden(s)”) and no fewer that 8 and no more than 30 members
of the Company, all such members of the Court being Liverymen. The
day-to-day running of the Company is delegated by the Court to the
Master’s Committee, which acts as the executive committee
of the Company, making policy recommendations to the Court. The Master’s
Committee usually consists of the Master and Wardens, Past Master,
Immediate Past Master and the 5 Chairmen of the Standing Committees. |

The Master is elected annually by the Court
of Assistants and is normally chosen from the Wardens in
order of the Wardens’ seniority. |

The Wardens are elected annually by the Court of Assistants. |

The Court of Assistants on the proposal and seconding of
members elects Liverymen to the Court of Assistants, and is
the policy making body of the Company. |

The Members or Freemen of the Company are admitted according
to the Criteria for Membership, upon submission of an application
and payment of the quarterage due. |

The Clerk is appointed by the Court and is the senior permanent
officer of the Company. |

The Company has five standing committees, which reflect its main activities: |

Charity & Education
To provide assistance or subsidy to those falling within the remits
of the Company Trust Fund and to develop ideas on forward management
issues, particularly where they relate to the City of London. |

Membership
To oversee the design and administration of the Membership procedures
and to facilitate the admission of candidates. |
|

|
|
| |
Events
To formulate ideas and put forward proposals for events to the
Master’s Committee. |
|
| |
|
|
| |
Finance
To oversee the financial aspects of the Company and to make recommendations
for the management of the funds to the Master’s Committee
and Trustees. |

City Affairs |
|
| |
To formulate proposals to increase members' understanding and
involvement in City Affairs. |
|
